The census of 1890 was destroyed by fire. The only part to survive for North Carolina was the census taken in; South Point Township, Riverbend Township and township #2 in Cleveland County.

From the marriage of Etheldred Hester Blalock (1869-1841) and Julia Alice Stamey-Blalock (1875-1958) at least 7 children were born;

On June 14th, 1891 their first child, Grady Marion Blalock (1891-1967) was born was born in Pigeon Township, Haywood Co., NC, USA. Grady was still listed as single and living in his fathers household in 1940. It is possible that he could have been married after the 1940 census but I have found no documentation to support that. So far I can only assume that he never married nor fathered any children. On August 11th, 1967 Grady Marion Blalock (1891-1967) died in Haywood Co., NC, USA. He was buried in Longs Community Cem., Canton, Haywood Co., NC, USA. At the time of his death he was 76 years old.

On August 10th, 1892 their second child, Benjamin S. Blalock (1892-1907) was born in Pigeon Township, Haywood Co., NC, USA On June 17th, 1907 Benjamin S. Blalock (1892-1907) died in Haywood Co., NC, USA He was buried in Bethel Community Cemetery in Canton, Haywood Co., NC, USA. At the time of his death he was 15 years old.

On July 14th, 1894 their third child, Nelson Theodore Blalock (1896-1986) was born in Pigeon Township, Haywood Co., NC, USA.  He went on to marry Lois Faye Murray (1899-1983) on August 25th, 1917 in Haywood Co., NC, USA. Lois Faye Murray (1899-1983) was born on July 24th, 1899 in Pigeon Township, Haywood Co., NC, USA to James Murray (1877-1932) and Cannie Miray Evans (1879-1970).
