This hand colored sketch is of Thomas Lenoir Blalock (1852-1934) and his sister Margaret Louisa Blalock-Deaver (1851-1933). I know nothing else about its history other then that. It was passed to my mother via her mother Thelma Carrie Blalock-Hoyle (1921-1994).

Margaret Louisa Blalock (1851-1933) went on to marry Thomas Bryson Deaver (1845-1922) on January 12th, 1873 in Haywood Co., NC, USA. Thomas built their home on the upper Dix Creek section of Haywood County in the Pigeon Valley area. All of their children were born there. Thomas and Margaret lived in that house together the rest of their lives.

The census of 1890 was destroyed by fire. The only part to survive for North Carolina was the census taken in; South Point Township, Riverbend Township and township #2 in Cleveland County.

At the time of her death she was 87 years old.
